An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Sunday, August 23, 2026!

Because high temperatures will continue to exceed 110° each afternoon this week, the National Weather Service has extended its Extreme Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley-area through Friday.

Today, the Valley will be under sunny skies with dew points in the 50s, middle-of-the-day relative humidity bottoming-out in the teens, and with high temperatures in the middle one-teens.

Both surface and precipitable water levels increase on Monday elevating humidity and providing enough moisture in the mid-levels to warrant a couple of afternoon mountain storms.

With extra clouds and higher dew points, Monday's highs in the Valley will stick closer to 111°.
