Coachella Valley Community Rallies to Support Earthquake Victims in Venezuela

Community members across the Coachella Valley came together this weekend to support families impacted by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

The Palm Springs Police Department Training Center hosted a donation drive where local officers and the California Fire Foundation collected essential supplies, including clean clothing, blankets, shoes, bottled water and other household necessities.

Organizers said the goal was to provide immediate relief to families facing significant hardship while bringing the local community together for a humanitarian cause.

One volunteer shared a personal connection to the effort, recalling immigrating to the United States from Cuba with very few possessions. He said the generosity his family received from others inspired him to give back to people now facing similar challenges.

In addition to the Palm Springs donation drive, organizers of the 2026 Legislative Breakfast in Coachella donated a portion of the event's proceeds to support earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela.

Community leaders say the response demonstrates the generosity of Coachella Valley residents and highlights how local partnerships can make a meaningful difference for families in need around the world.
