Rancho Mirage Victim Identified in Deadly Highway 74 Crash

Authorities have identified the victim killed in a deadly crash on Highway 74 over the weekend.

According to the Riverside County Coroner, 38-year-old Eric Boettcher of Rancho Mirage was pronounced dead at the scene following Saturday’s collision near Carrizo Road in the Pinyon Pines area.

Video from the scene showed three motorcycles and one sedan involved in the crash. The sedan and one motorcycle were seen down an embankment following the collision.

Investigators have not specified whether Boettcher was riding one of the motorcycles or driving the sedan at the time of the crash.

Officials have also not released information about the condition of any other people involved. As of tonight, there have been no arrests and investigators have not provided additional details about what may have caused the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.
