Dozens of Cats Rescued From Coachella Valley Animal Campus

A major rescue effort is giving dozens of cats from the Coachella Valley Animal Campus a new chance at finding permanent homes.

Representatives from the shelter say 58 cats were recently transferred into the care of ASAP Cats, a rescue group that has been helping save and rehome cats since 1989.

Officials say many of the cats are already settling into foster homes where they can recover, receive medical care, and prepare for adoption. Foster placements are expected to help improve the animals’ health and socialization while easing overcrowding concerns at the shelter.

The Coachella Valley Animal Campus, located in Thousand Palms, says partnerships with rescue organizations play an important role in creating additional space and resources for other animals still waiting for care and adoption.

Shelter leaders continue encouraging community members to foster, adopt, or support local rescue organizations as animal shelters across the region remain impacted by overcrowding.
