Pet of the Week: Meet Charlie Brown

Jack Hagerman from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter joined us in studio with Charlie Brown, a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Charlie Brown came to the shelter after being found in a tent alongside another dog, though what's remarkable is just how sweet and resilient he turned out to be. He walks beautifully on leash, rides great in the car, appears to be housetrained, and has done really well meeting new people and other dogs.

Also looking for love at the shelter are Brookie, a sweet and shy dog who just needs a patient person to let her warm up, and Boomer, a rock-solid, easy-going dog who is great with people and other dogs and will fit right into your household from day one.

Animal Camp 2026 is also coming up this summer, offering four fun-filled days of learning adventures focused on companion animals, wildlife, and rescued farm animals. The first week is already booked, but spots are still available for the remaining two weeks, and scholarships are available for those who need them.

The shelter is also calling on the community for volunteers and fosters this summer, its busiest season. Fostering is as simple as opening your home, the shelter provides food, medicine, and support, all you have to do is love them. Foster commitments can be as short as one week or as long as a few months.
